Climbing on mount Monh khairkhan

ABOUT TOUR
During this trip you’ll see western Mongolian landscape & snow covered Altai mountain range.. The mount Monhkhairkhan is about 210 km east from the Hovd city & the highest peak Suhbaatar is 4204 m ASL. This mountain has several ways for climbing. Easier way is long walking on rocky slope ( 45° ) The other way is little more technical so you need climb on 50°- steep slope ice wall. You need good enough physical condition, experience to use your equipment. We have to spend 12-14 hours for climbing& back.
Temperature might be –05° C during the night so you need warm sleeping bag. But some times very warm when it is not windy and sunny day and you’ll need sun block cream.
You’ll visit to local families and will have chance to ride famous Mongolian horses.

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrival at UB and transfer to the hotel, sightseeing of the town & City tour, visit of some museums, art gallery and In the evening concert folklore.

Day 2. Khovd province

After breakfast flight to Khovd & city tour. Over night at the local hotel.

Day 3. Monh khairkhan

Drive to mount Monh khairkhan about 6-8 hours. Camping on the way.

Day 4. Reach to the mountain

Reach to the mountain & make the base camp.

Day 5. Preparation for the climbing

Preparation for the climbing and acclimatization around the base camp. Even we can make upper camp. For shorten the duration of summit day.

Day 6. Barilgachin peak & continue to Suhbaatar peak

Climb on Barilgachin peak & continue to Suhbaatar peak & back to the base camp. It takes 8-10 hours.

Day 7. Day of rest

Resting.

Day 8. Hovd province

In the morning prepare to leave & drive back to Hovd city. Over night at the hotel.

Day 9. Ulaanbaatar

Flight to UB, transfer to the hotel. Free time for shopping & visit Gandan monastery and in the evening farewell dinner.

Day 10. Departure

Departure to home. Have a good journey.

Day 11. Ulaanbaatar (110km)

After having breakfast and visiting a research center of re-introduction in the camp, we will drive deep into the National reserve to see re-introduced Thakhi wild horses known as Prejivalsky Egus. After lunch we will drive to the city of Ulaanbaatar. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the hotel. Spend the night at the hotel. (BL)

Day 12. Ulaanbaatar

All day free for individual plans. (B)

Day 13. Departure

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport or train station for international departure. (B)
