Darkhad depression photo adventure

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel from airport. Optional city tours are available. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2. Ulaanbaatar to Murun town & Ulaan-Uul district

After breakfast at the hotel transfer to airport for the flight to Murun town. Upon arrival drive to place called Balbirag located in Ulaan-Uul district (190km). Mountain roads are bumpy but nature is scenec. On the way have lunch in the nature. Spend the night on the shore of Guna river in tents. Here we meet with our horse rangers. (BLD)

Day 3. Targan mountain, Taiga Protected Area

After cozy breakfast we walk around river basin and mountains search for scenic spots for photo. Meanwhile our horses would be ready for the trip heading to Targan mountain. After 1 hour riding we enter Ulaan Taiga Protected Area. Have a picnic lunch on the way at Taij lake. Area is very watery and require crossing some mud pools with horses. Late afternoon we reach Targan mountain which is top peak reach 2655m above sea level. While cook preparing dinner have we walk around and take pictures of amazing scenery. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 4. Zeveg lake, Ikh Bosgo mountain

Early morning view is breathtaking. While taking pictures around our horses would be ready for another 15km trip to Zeveg lake. Today’s trip is less muddy and watery. Have a picnic lunch at Ikh Bosgo mountain. Today’s trip is also about 4 hours and let afternoon we reach Zeveg lake. Spend night in tents close to Zeveg lake. There are many spots for amazing pictures. (BLD)

Day 5. Free day

Free day at leisure. All day comfortably search for good picturesque spot. (BLD)

Day 6. Temeen Mountain, Belchir Gandag mountain

After breakfast photo shooting until horses are loaded up. Distance also about 15km. We cross several mountain streams. Have picnic lunch near Temeen Mountain. Late afternoon reach Belchir Gandag mountain and night rest in tents. (BLD)

Day 7. Barlin lake, Dakhad Depression open land

Today we turn our reins to southeast to Barlin lake (15km). on the way have our lunch near Barlin mountain. Late afternoon reach Barlin lake and spend night nearby. The area have Taiga forest visible in the west side and Dakhad Depression open land on east side. Very beautiful and scenic. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 8. Delger Murun river

After breakfast photo time. Horseback trip continue to southeast through forest till Delger Murun river (15km). Spend the night on the shore of beautiful Delger Murun river. Camp fire and farewell dinner with local herders. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 9. Joshim river, Bayanzurkh district

After breakfast we head to Joshim river where we meet with our drivers (10km). Have a picnic lunch with drivers and shift our luggage to the cars. Say goodbye to local herders and head to Bayanzurkh district center (70km) through forest. Spend night near Bayanzurkh district in tents. (BLD)
