Archeological sites of Tavanbogd National Park

Day 1. Ulaanbaatar

Arrival in Mongolia and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 2. Ulaanbaatar tour

After breakfast begin guided city tour including Gandan Monastery- the heart of Mongolian Buddhism, Chinggis Khaan square, lunch, National museum of Mongolia, Zaisan hill and national folklore show followed by dinner. End of the tour transfer back to hotel. (BLD)

Day 3. Flight to Ulgy town

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Ulgy town. Upon landing at Ulgy town pick up from the airport and visit of local museum. After lunch head to the Khokh Khutul area (120km). Here we can find Khar Yamaat man like stone erected 5-7 century. Spend a night in tents. (BLD)

Day 4-5. Tsagaan salaa area

Continue driving about 80km we reach Tsagaan salaa area. Here you can study Tsagaan salaa petroglyphs - UNESCO World Heritage site. Rock drawing continues over 20km. We stay here for 2 nights. Spend a night in tents. (BLD)

Day 6-7. Shiveet Khairkhan pertoglyphes

Another 120km driving will take us to Shiveet Khairkhan pertoglyphes. There is more than 10 000 rock drawings can be found from this area which are belong to Bronze age. Here we also stay another 2 nights. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 8. Mogoit area

In the morning drive to Mogoit area (120km). On the way visit several Turkish monuments and burial sites. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 9-10. Biluut area

Drive to Biluut area (80km). Here also massive petroglyphes can be found which are drawn in Iron age. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 11. Tsagaan asgat area

Today we go to Tsagaan asgat area (80km) with lot of Deer stones believed to be erected 7-3 century BC. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 12. Khultsuut

Head to Khultsuut (140km). Here we can study Neolithic Pertoglyphes. Tented night. (BLD)

Day 13. Ulgy town

Head back to Ulgy town. On arrival visit local museum. Spend the night in the ger camp.

Day 14. Ulaanbaatar

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar city. Rest of the day in leisure.

Day 14. Departure

Transfer airport.
